General description

This course examines the cultural, economic, political and security aspects of the American-West European relationship since the end of the Second World War. Within the context of broader international developments from the end of World War II to the post-Cold War era, the course will explore the patterns of co-operation, competition, and conflict that have characterized the transatlantic relationship.                              

Language of instruction will be English, but students may write their essays in Finnish.

Evaluation: Course will be assessed on the basis of an essay of ca. 2000-2500 words.  The questions for the essay will be provided during the third lecture.  The essays should be sent as an email attachment by 23.9. 2011 to: jussi.hanhimaki@uta.fi
