Learning outcomes

To demonstrate the necessary linguistic knowledge for studies in Finnish language.

Minor students will have to pass a selection exam held at the beginning of each autumn semester, demonstrating knowledge of basic Finnish grammar (for example: Pirkko Leino 1999: Suomen kielioppi. Otava; or Osmo Ikola 2001: Nykysuomen opas. Turun yliopiston suomalaisen ja yleisen kielitieteen laitoksen julkaisuja 65). The number of minor students admitted every year is 15. In order to maintain the right to keep Finnish language as a minor subject, students are expected to progress in their studies (completed courses at least every other year).
