Learning outcomes

To give an elementary introduction to elliptic curve cryptography.


Public-key cryptography, finite fields, elliptic curves and their group structure, elliptic curves over a finite field, the problem of discrete logarithm on an elliptic curve.

The course is based on lectures given in Finnish. As an auxiliary reference, the following books are recommended:
