Learning outcomes

Students understand the complexity of pedagogic phenomenon and theoretical challenges in their personal research-based project on media literacies. Students master the research-based touch in their practical work.

Students select a target, context and pedagogic means to their project after discussion with the person in charge of the study module. It is possible to implement the research-based project in media, school, youth work etc. in a media educational context.

Study module includes SOMEJAM Tampere project which is an intensive weekend event with young people, youth workers and students of various fields of study.
The project offers a media educational perspective to the participants in a real youth work at the City of Tampere. Multi-talent teams have 48 hours to create new concepts in the form of apps, games or web services for youths with the help of team mentors who are top specialists in new technology.

Organizing partners: University of Tampere, Verke - the National Center for Digital Youth Work in Finland, Tampere City Youth Service, University of Tampere and Tampere University of Applied Sciences TAMK
