Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course unit, the student will be able to independently apply the principles of professional translation in various translation assignments from Finnish into English. The student will be able to translate according to the translation commission either independently or in cooperation with an expert of the Finnish language. The student will be able to utilise the most common information sources and translating tools, analytically justify their own translation solutions, and assess existing translations. The student will also be able to assess and manage their use of time in extensive translation tasks.


During the course unit, the student will produce translations both independently and in groups, as well as comment on and assess translations.
