Learning outcomes

By the end of this course the students:

- can develop a project theme
- can submit a project proposal
- can integrate academic reading and research
- can facilitate and engage in collaboration within groups
- can establish communication with the community, stakeholders, etc. engaged in the project through professional correspondence (email, letters, phone calls, use of social media, etc.)
- can use appropriate academic conventions in the writing of project proposals, abstracts, reports
- can use appropriate academic conventions in the presentation of project outcomes


This course is designed to further the professional and academic communication skills needed in developing projects related to contemporary educational issues.

Modes of study

Participants are required to attend all classes and actively participate in the activities. If absent for a class be prepared to give a 5 minute presentation at the beginning of the next class. Students will be asked to keep a learner journal which should be submitted midway in the course and then at the end of the course.

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 1-5.
Students are expected to show an improvement in their ability to express themselves and will be evaluated both continuously and in a final test.
