Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the students will
-master the distinctive key characteristics of expansive learning within the broad field of the learning sciences
-be aware of ways in which educators and educational researchers can detect, foster and support expansive learning
-be able to carry out analyses of expansive learning

General description

The students will be introduced to:

-the theory of expansive learning and its epistemological underpinnings

-the differences between this and other approaches to learning

-the specific methods of formative interventions and data analysis derived from the theory

 

The students will be encouraged to:

-explore links between the conceptual and methodological resources of expansive learning and their own doctoral research

Lectures, discussions, hands-on tasks, and student presentations

Participation in the lectures and discussions, and completion of assignments
